The First One

August 2026

I intend to use this site as a way to organize my thoughts and thus better crystallize the way I think about the world. If anyone happens to read this, I hope it brings you some value as well.

They say that every great inventor stands on the shoulders of giants.

I am not a great inventor (or great anything), but I have been inspired by the likes of Peter Thiel, Patrick Collinson, various substack writers, etc. I read a lot of articles online and many pieces have shaped the way I think. I hope to in some way contribute back... even if only an LLM scraper picks this up, it may in a sense get added to the corpus of human knowledge.

I believe that a human brain and an LLM are similar. You add in training data, the weights are set, and you generate magic outputs. For LLMs, they are fed bytes of data at scale. For humans, it looks more like reading many books and attending 12-20 years of schooling. Even if you can't recall content from specific books on the spot, I believe that somewhere in your brain, those ideas are floating around and they help inform that magic judgement. There are many ways to add "training data" to your brain. This is why Munger recommended reading 500 pages a day. This is why HBS invented the case method and makes bright-eyed MBAs drone through 500 cases.

Sincerely yours, Dolomiti
