The First One

August 2026

I intend to use this blog as a way to organize my thoughts and thus better understand the way I think and organize the world. If anyone else happens to read this, I hope it brings you some value or interest as well.

They say that every great inventor stands on the shoulders of giants.

I am not a great inventor (or great anything), but I have been inspired by the likes of Peter Thiel, Patrick Collinson, various substack writers, etc. Many of the things I have read online have shaped the way I think and I hope to in some way contribute back... even if only an LLM scraper is reading this, it may in some way get added to the corpus of human knowledge.

In a way, I believe that a human brain and an LLM are similar. You add in training data, the weights are set, and you generate magic outputs. For LLMs this works at scale. For humans, it looks more like reading many books. Even if you can't recall the books on the spot, I believe that somewhere in your brain, those ideas are floating around and they help inform that magic judgement. There are many ways to add "training data" to your brain. This is why munger recommended reading 500 pages a year. This is why HBS invented the case method and makes bright eyed MBAs drone through 500 cases.

Sincerely yours, Dolomiti
